Still doing good!

My kind of diet is still going well.  I'm still eating good and still swimming.  I finally blew up my body ball and boy, is that thing great for stretching!!  Feels so good to lay on it and stretch out all the front muscles.  I'm still weighing myself on the scale and so far I'm down a total of 6lbs.  WOOHOO!!!! :)  I did 2 hours of laps on sunday too.  An unexpected swim.  But i was in a bad mood and thought swimming would help put me in a better mood.  Which it did.  I'm super tired today and not sure if I'm going to go today, if I do, I don't think I'll do the full 2 hours.  I even went to be early last night.  Maybe it's because I got up early to go grocery shopping this morning.  Time to go make breakfast.  Maybe I'll wake up a little more after I eat something.

Just keep swimming.......

Which is exactly what I'm doing! :). I love swimming so much & realized today that it's more like playing in the water than actual exercise. As long as I 'm doing laps & not getting in the way of others I can pretty much swim any way I want to. I got my hour and a half in today. Tomorrow I will be doing the full two hours. I can feel my legs getting stronger. Today I made it all the way up the hill without having to stop and walk my bike up. I'm still eating all the foods I love just smaller portions & I'm going to start taking a snack with me to eat after swimming so I'm not famished by the time I get home.
I've already lost 5 lbs! I tried on some old clothes today that didn't fit very well and they're a little bit looser! I'm super excited about it and next week hope to do three days. I'm debating on going Friday evening. I think I'll ask how packed it is first. I don't want to go if it's super packed. I like having my space.
Well off to watch some tv and get sleepy! I want to get up early tomorrow. Gots things to do!

A small success.........

Is still a success!!  I am down a couple pounds this week!  :D  A small victory, but still a victory!  I only got 2 days of swimming in, and was part of an all you can eat fish and chips dinner last night, also ate some saltwater taffy & pizza this week.  So this is proof that you can loose weight and still eat what you want!  So far the key seems to be moderation.  As long as you are able to eat the junky, yummy foods that we all love in small portions, you'll be ok.  Of course this is still only the first week, so we'll see how it goes from here.  Looks like I will be able to go swimming 3 days this week!  I also got myself a body ball for some strengthening.  So I will be able to incorporate that into my weekly routine now as well.  I plan getting some resistance bands later on.  But I want to start out slow because it's not something I'm super stoked about doing.
Now that my daughter is up, it's time to start our mother's day!  I want to do something in the sun since it's going to be a beautiful sunny day!  Upper 80's!!!  WOOHOO!!!

Day 1

Day 1 was for the most part, a success. :)  I got my hour of swimming in yesterday, and boy am I feeling it today!  Getting ready to go again.  I'm going to the 9:30 lap swim this morning :)  Hopefully it won't be too busy.  Yesterday the high school students were using the pool for PE, it was funny watching them.
I did eat a little more last night for dinner than I should have, but, I'll get into the swing of things :)  I had a good breakfast this morning.  I read that you should eat a nice sized breakfast because you haven't eaten in about 12 hours or so.  Makes sense.  So this morning I cut up some apple, pear, banana, and strawberries for my oatmeal, topped it with some cinnamon, because all those are supposed to be metabolism boosters.  Had my cup of green tea, and my multivitamins.  Also had 2 medium boiled eggs for some extra protein.  Everyone seems to agree that protein helps you stay fuller longer.  The one thing I know I need to work on, is drinking more water.  I bought myself a small jug that's 74 oz.  So since you're supposed to drink half your body weight in water, I have to drink 2 of those a day.  Including my tea.  That's A LOT of water, and I'm going to struggle with it, but as I loose the weight, the amount of water I drink will decrease so it will get easier. :)

Starting off

So, I've got my grocery shopping done :)  Everything in my cart was fresh, except for the garbanzo beans.  Those were the only canned item I got.  I can't believe how much sodium is in those!  That's one thing that you need to watch is the nutrition labels on the canned & packaged foods.  If it has stuff in it that I can't pronounce, then I put it back.  Of course, I'm still buying groceries at my local supermarket.  I think I may see about getting food stamps (I qualify anyway just haven't gotten them) and using them to buy organic.  It's better for you anyway.  At least buying what I can't grow myself I should say.  Then freeze any excess that I grow.
I was bad this morning too.  I went for the quick fix for breakfast.  I had 2 donuts....... :(  It sounded good, and I didn't really want to make my oatmeal.  And like I said in my last post, if you have a craving, indulge it!  Granted I should have only had 1, but I didn't, and shame on me!! :(  That's the one mistake I DO NOT want to do, is be too hard on myself for indulging a little.
Well, off to put my groceries away and dig out my swim suit so I can go do some laps at the pool! :D  I love swimming!  And as a bonus, I have decided to ride my bike.  I need to get my legs stronger because I plan on biking to work and saving the gas in the car for further away places.
